Ken Kopka steps down, WID names new ops head

WID Operations has a new Acting Director. Davis Grant, a five-year WID staff member and former WID Operations project manager, was appointed to the position of Acting Operations Director following a decision by Ken Kopka to reduce his WID workload. Ken will work on the Lake three days a week doing the work he likes best and use the rest of his time to pursue his many other interests.

Prior to joining the WID, Davis was in land development and construction. He worked for the WID as a consultant and contractor prior to accepting a position as a WID technician in 1999.

Davis will be Acting Director for a 90-day probation period. During that time the WID Trustees plan to review the Operations Director job description and determine how all of the many roles currently assigned to the position should be filled. These roles include work leadership, community relations, and state and local agency coordination.
