Will interest rates go up or down?

What events will affect our town?

What will happen in Iraq?

I hope nothing to give us shock

What new inventions will come to be?

Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could see

The New Year's like an unread book

But you can't cheat and take a look

At the last page to find out how

Things will turn out -- you can't know now

You'll have to wait and see each day

What the next act brings in this play

Time will pass, the year will grow old

And we will see all its mysteries unfold
