Tara Leigh McCaleb, daughter of Lee and Patti McCaleb of Whispering Lane, was born Dec. 6 at 12:18 a.m. She was 8 pounds, 6 ounces and 20 3/8 inches long. Mom and Dad report that older brothers Bobby, 4, and Ryan, 15 months, are adjusting to the changes in their home.
Stefanie Regan Deutsch, who was raised on Lakeview Drive, will be married to Marek Michejda in Aspen, Colorado in March 2004. Stefanie, a graduate of J.E.B. Stuart High School and Denison University, is staff photographer and photo editor of 7x7 magazine in San Francisco. Marek, a graduate of University of Colorado, is an investment broker in San Francisco.
Stefanie is the daughter of Dr. Marjorie Deutsch and the late Dr. Alan Deutsch, and the youngest sister of Dr. Lisa Nava, Dr. Brian Deutsch and Pamela Deutsch Kazeva.
Paul Imse of Jay Miller Drive was recently appointed by the Fairfax County Board to serve on the Chesapeake Bay Protection Ordinance Exception Review Committee. Paul was nominated by Supervisor Penny Gross to represent the Mason District. Paul said he is excited about working to protect the Bay and, not incidentally, Lake Barcroft. "It will be a delicate balancing act to work with the defined exceptions under the ordinance in such a way that exceptions are honored and protection of water quality is maximized."
Tove N. Rauth, 84, wife of Ernest B. Rauth, died on Dec. 24. Born in Copenhagen, Tove lived in South Bend, Ind., and Washington D.C. where she worked for the IRS. She and her husband, Ernie, moved to Lakeview Drive in the early 1950s. Ernie Rauth, a longtime and much-missed Lake Barcroft volunteer, died in August 2002. Tove is survived by Eric and his son, Lionel, 14, of Greensboro, N.C. Cremation niche interment will be at a private gathering at Columbia Gardens in Arlington.
