At this first meeting of the new Board, we set objectives for the coming year:

4   Conduct a financial audit of LBA books. Karen Wehner is ahead of the curve on this one and hopes to have the audit underway by summer.

4   Finish the job of making the Architectural Review committee a well-oiled, responsive, proactive machine that serves as a resource for this community. David Dale has hit the ground running.

4   Review LBA's insurance coverage to make certain that we have the proper coverage and that we are getting the most for our insurance dollar. Karen Wehner is leading this.

4   Prepare a "Realtor's package" for real estate agents who list and sell homes within the community. This package will both let both new Realtors and buyers know that we have a homeowners association and that there are certain fees, taxes and community rules, in particular architectural guidelines. Regina Derzon will be taking the lead here.

Address the street sign issues that were raised several weeks ago on Lake Link. Alan Pisarski has identified specific streets and addresses where emergency responders have been confused by street signs and house numbers. He is preparing a proposal with specific recommendations to remedy the situation.

4   Explore the possibility of providing radar guns to the Neighborhood Watch Program to monitor speeders. Such an initiative might reduce speeding without adding more stop signs and speed humps and place direct control of the issue in the community's hands. Penny Gross is looking into Lake Barcroft serving as a pilot program for the County.

4   Resolve once and for all time the question of applicability of the Virginia Homeowners Association law and the pros and cons for LBA. Diane Davidson is going to be working on this.

4   Continue to support the Innovative Concepts committees in completing their respective tasks.

4   Continue to support the WID/LBA Task Force for the Community Future.

After the regular Board meeting, the three officers present held separate annual Board meetings for Barcroft Beach, Inc. and the Lake Barcroft Foundation.
