In the "Neighbors" column, Dave Mazzarella's favorite memory confuses two events which took place 37 years apart. The participants in the Turtle Island event must have been Charles and Liz Christian of Lakeview Drive. The time we -- Ruth and Don Christian -- were the towers of a disabled party barge was in the spring of 1966 when we were canoeing on the Tripps Run arm of the lake. We and our infant son, Kent, noticed a party barge which had lost power and was drifting helplessly. We tossed them a line which we made fast to our canoe and then paddled vigorously. Slowly we pulled them back to shore -- depositing them safely on dry land.
