Barcroft Babysitting Co-op rides again

Nine moms (representing 14 children) had their first meeting on Feb. 1 at the home of Chandra Hanes on Crosswoods Drive. They got to know one another and heard tips and reminiscences from Tom Donlan of Jay Miller Drive, who helped found the original babysitting co-op in 1982. That group lasted until well into the 1990s, when the last child grew beyond babysitters. Over the years more than 30 families were part of that first co-op.

Today new Babysitting Co-op families must be recommended by a current family. Membership is limited. For information, call Chandra Hanes at 703-941-2330.
