J.E.B. Stuart High School's Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) will sponsor its 10th annual Taste of the Town fundraiser on Sunday, March 16.

The lively evening will feature food contributed by nearby restaurants and performances by Stuart's talented musical groups. Last year's menu included egg rolls from Peking Gourmet Inn, pizza from Papa John's, and pastries from Perks Cafe and Coffee Shop. Silent and live auctions will offer hundreds of donated items at bargain prices. Last year's live auction featured beach cottage weeks, Redskins tickets, sailing on the Chesapeake and other getaways. Attendees will also have a chance to win two dinners at the Inn at Little Washington.

Tickets cost $10, and patrons may designate one half the ticket price to go to the school activity of their choice.

PTSA Treasurer John Thomas reports that last year's Taste of the Town netted just over $18,000. Of the total, $7,184 went to school clubs, class funds and teams; $6,200 went to Stuart booster groups and middle school PTAs. The Stuart PTSA kept $3,283, and another $1,500 went to the Stuart Scholarship Fund, which is chaired by Lake Barcroft resident Jan Rasgus.
