Welcome to the new Lake Barcroft Newsletter
Our first official act is to acknowledge 17 years of dedication -- thousands of hours -- given to the Lake Barcroft community by retiring Newsletter Editor Carol Hawley. Please note that it is going to take nearly 20 people to do the job that Carol did each month. We would be honored to have her as our Editor Emeritus.
Thanks also to Frank Aukofer and the members of the Lake Barcroft Publications Committee who have put together our new staff and handled the arrangements for printing and mailing.
And now about this new newsletter . . .
Well, it's all about news. Many of us are or have been journalists at newspapers large and small. We hope this will be a strong "small town" paper that tells our neighbors what's going on and reflects the joy we share at living at the Lake.
We'll have regular coverage of the LBA (Lake Barcroft Association), the WID (our Watershed Improvement District), clubs (such as the Lake Barcroft Woman's Club and the Newcomers' Club), as well as our schools, real estate, local business and Lake life in general. We'll have stories about the people who live here and the milestones in their lives - births (children and grandchildren), marriages, moving out or moving in, graduations, awards and honors. Yes, even obituaries. It's all news.
Wait until you see the stories that are coming up. We're having a great time and we invite you to join our merry band. We need more reporters and photographers, so please sign on if you can. And please let us know about stories we should be covering.
