Members of the the Lake Barcroft Woman's Club enjoy sponsoring community activities, raising funds for local charities, and seeing each other at Club events.

Community Activities
The annual Easter Egg Hunt, 4th of July Parade and Halloween Parade attract the community’s children and grandchildren. Club members supply the organizational skills, manpower and the special treats for these signature events for the Lake Barcroft community.

Charities and Fundraising
Since its founding in 1955, the Club has proudly donated over $200,000 to local charities. Recipients over the last 5 years include: ACCA, Bailey’s Beautification Alliance, Bailey’s Crossroads Volunteer Fire Dept., Haven of Northern Virginia, Heritage Language Literacy Club, and The Morning Star Program. Fundraising events have included Home Tours, a Fun Dog Show, and selling member developed cookbooks.

Club Events
We enjoy annual fall and spring luncheons, the Holiday Party, Wine Tasting Party, day and evening Bridge Clubs, monthly morning Book Club, and Special Interest Group meetings for Downtown Attractions, Eating Adventures, Movie Adventures, and Crafts.

Health Aids Closet
To help Lake Barcroft residents who are temporarily infirm, the Club maintains a Health Aids Closet with a collection of crutches, walkers, canes, wheel chairs, etc. Please contact Leigh Gonzalez at 703-914-1208 or leigh.gonzalez@verizon.net. There is no charge to borrow the equipment.

Woman’s Club Community Garden
In 1974, the Club paid for a footbridge over Holmes Run to connect two sections of our community – a literal metaphor for the Club's years of building bridges to bring residents closer together. Then to celebrate its 40th anniversary in 1995/96, the Club began a Community Garden on the Dearborn Drive side of the footbridge, which continues today as a Lake Barcroft landmark.
